Tal Niv

Tal Niv is the current General Counsel & Head of HR at PlanetScale. Prior to this, Tal was an adjunct professor of Internet Law at University of California, Hastings College of the Law from January 2020 to May 2021. From January 2014 to December 2015, Tal was an adjunct professor of patent law at Tel Aviv University. From May 2013 to December 2018, Tal was an adjunct professor of IP Survey, IP Seminar, and Trademark Law at Santa Clara University School of Law. From January 2013 to February 2021, Tal was the VP of Global Expansion Strategy at GitHub. From June 2010 to December 2012, Tal was a Policy Fellow at Creative Commons. From September 2003 to December 2004, Tal was a Product Manager at Hotbar.com. From August 2003 to August 2004, Tal was a System Analyst at XMPie. From October 2000 to June 2003, Tal was a System Analyst at Nuvisio Corporation. From June 1997 to October 2000, Tal served as a lieutenant in Unit 8200 - Israeli Intelligence Corps.

Tal Niv has an Executive MBA from The Wharton School, a PhD in Law & Technology from University of California, Berkeley - School of Law, and a Bachelor of Laws - LLB in Law & Economics from Tel Aviv University.
