Derek Wright is a seasoned professional in music performance, specializing in the French horn, with extensive experience spanning over a decade. Since October 2010, Derek has served as the 3rd Horn for Dallas Winds and as a Section Horn for West Texas Symphony since August 2015. Derek's portfolio includes roles as a substitute horn player for several orchestras, including the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and the Irving Symphony Orchestra. In addition, Derek co-owns Houghton Horns LLC, where responsibilities encompass management, marketing, sales, web development, and graphic arts. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Musical Arts from Arizona State University, a Master of Music from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Plano Symphony Orchestra

The Plano Symphony Orchestra performs its main series concerts at the Eisemann Center in Richardson & St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano. The Family Series Concerts are performed at the Frisco Discovery Center and Courtyard Theatre in downtown Plano.
