Michael White

Michael White has extensive work experience in the field of Information Security and Risk Assessment. Michael is currently working as the Senior Manager, Information Security GRC at PlanSource since March 2020. Prior to this, they worked at LPL Financial as a Technology Risk Assessment - Information Security Senior Engineer from June 2018 to March 2020. In this role, they performed enterprise annual and targeted ad-hoc risk assessments and recommended measures to manage and mitigate risks.

From 2013 to 2018, Michael worked at Duke Energy Corporation, where they held the position of CyberSecurity - NERC CIP Lead Compliance Analyst. Michael was responsible for developing and implementing strategies and measures pertaining to NERC CIP compliance. Additionally, they worked as a CIP Compliance Analyst/Project Manager during their time at Duke Energy Corporation.

Earlier in their career, Michael worked at Bank of America as a Senior IT Auditor and as a Technical Manager/Supplier Assessor - Information Security. Michael managed teams and assessed the Information Security and Business Continuity controls of critical suppliers.

Prior to that, they held roles at West Corporation as a Network Security Supervisor and Network Engineer, as well as at PKS Information Services as a Network Administrator.

Michael's career began in 1989 in the United States Air Force where they served as a Satellite Operations/Computer Systems Operator.

Michael White holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information Technology - Security from Western Governors University. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. This includes the following certifications:

- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS), obtained in December 2019

- CCNA Security from Cisco, obtained in January 2017

- LPIC-1: Linux Server Professional from Linux Professional Institute, obtained in February 2015

- Project+ from CompTIA, obtained in May 2014

- CISA from ISACA, obtained in January 2013

- Six Sigma Green Belt from Bank of America, obtained in December 2009

- CISSP from (ISC)², obtained in December 2004
