Matthew Workentine

Matthew Workentine is a computational biologist with a background in biochemistry and microbiology. They supported bioinformatics projects within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Calgary from 2014 to 2019. Currently, they serve as a Consultant at Pioneer Labs and hold the position of Senior Bioinformatics Engineer at Plasmidsaurus, while also having recently been the Associate Director of Computational Biology at Willow Biosciences Inc. Matthew completed their Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and earned a Ph.D. in Microbial Biochemistry, both at the University of Calgary. Additionally, they conducted postdoctoral research at McMaster University focused on high-throughput profiling of bacterial pathogens.
