Jerry Barroso

Gerardo Barroso has extensive work experience in software engineering and web development. Gerardo started their career at Plastic Surgery Studios in 2014 as a Senior/Lead Frontend Software Engineer. In this role, they led a development team and implemented efficient and reusable code using Reactjs and Styled-Components. Gerardo collaborated with frontend and backend developers, as well as designers, to create new web applications using JavaScript, React, and SASS. Gerardo also developed a documentation system to onboard new developers quickly and efficiently. Additionally, Gerardo engineered and maintained major features of the main web app plugin using ES6, PHP, and Kernl. Gerardo created a new framework using tools like webpack, git, css, sass, and jade to accelerate the development process. Gerardo performed bug fixes, conducted code reviews, and reduced technical debt by 24% within the first month. Gerardo made high-level contributions to optimize site performance and improve accessibility. Gerardo collaborated with the DevOps team to address issues and ensure application security. As a freelancer, they worked as a Web Designer/Developer from 2009 to 2010, and later held the same role at Nusta Group from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they worked as a Frontend Developer at Objective Creativity Studio from 2012 to 2014.
