PLATFORM is a versatile arts and cultural institution that sees itself as a platform for contemporary art, cultural projects, and professional development. Its focus is on traineeships in cultural management as well as the organization of exhibition and cultural projects, lectures, and workshops for artists.

Since 2009, PLATFORM has been supported by the Munich Employment and Qualification Programme (MBQ) of the Department of Labour and Economic Development. The institution is run by Münchner Arbeit gemeinnützige GmbH. Each year, five trainees join the organisation, working independently on projects in an open, non-commercial environment while gaining hands-on experience of the cultural sector.

PLATFORM understands itself as an experimental field in which creativity, initiative, and personal responsibility are encouraged. Today, it is an integral part of Munich’s cultural landscape and contributes to the ongoing development of the local arts and culture scene.
