Emily Stuart has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Emily began their career as an Intellectual Property Research Analyst at Verenium, where they managed a team responsible for patent analysis and supported patent prosecution. Emily then worked as an Attorney at Barrack, Rodos & Bacine, representing institutional investors in class actions and providing legal advice in securities and consumer safety cases. Subsequently, they joined Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann as an Attorney, representing institutional investors in complex civil actions.
In 2018, Emily transitioned to the technology sector and joined Platform Science as In-House Counsel, where they negotiated strategic partner agreements and developed legal functions. Emily was later promoted to Associate Commercial Counsel, where they negotiated agreements with third-party partners and spearheaded app-to-app integration. Currently, they serve as the Director of Business Affairs and Partner Commercial Counsel at Platform Science, leading the negotiation and execution of agreements with partner applications, services, and products.
Prior to their legal career, Emily worked at U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) on an Accompanied Overseas Tour from 2012 to 2017. Their extensive legal experience combined with their knowledge of the technology industry showcases their ability to navigate complex legal matters and contribute to the growth and success of organizations.
Emily Stuart earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1999. Later, they attended the University of San Diego School of Law and completed their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 2004. Emily specialized in Taxation and obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the same institution in 2005.
