Songdo Y. has a diverse work experience spanning from 1998 to the present. They started their career at Arthur Andersen, LLP as an Experienced Audit Staff from September 1998 to August 2000. Then, they worked as a Senior Accountant at Colony Capital/Advisors LLC from August 2000 to August 2002. After that, they pursued a graduate degree at California State University, Long Beach from August 2002 to May 2004 while working as a Graduate Student in the evening program. Following this, they took a career sabbatical from September 2004 to March 2013 to raise children. Returning to the workforce, they worked as the Director of Finance at Intrinsic Valuation from April 2013 to June 2014. Next, they held the position of Corporate Controller at Principal Development Group Consulting from March 2013 to March 2016. Following another career sabbatical to raise children from April 2016 to July 2019, they joined Platinum Equity. They first worked as the Director of Corporate Accounting from July 2019 to January 2023 and now hold the role of VP, Corporate Accounting starting in January 2023. They also have experience as an Independent Contractor at Boeing Capital Corporation from August 2003 to September 2004.

Songdo Y. attended UCLA from 1994 to 1998, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics/International Area Studies. Later, from 2002 to 2004, Songdo Y. pursued a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling at California State University, Long Beach.
