Platypus Media develops books and educational resources that support families, educators, and parenting professionals. Our publications focus on attachment parenting, with an emphasis on breastfeeding and cosleeping education, while also promoting curiosity and lifelong learning for children.

Through our children’s imprint, Science Naturally, we publish engaging fiction and nonfiction titles that introduce young readers to STEM concepts in fun and accessible ways. Our catalog serves early childhood through middle-grade readers and includes a wide range of formats such as board books, hardcovers, paperbacks, activity and coloring books, die-cut books, and ebooks.

We are committed to making our books accessible to children from all backgrounds. Our titles are available in English as well as bilingual, reversible, and single-language editions. Most of our books are also available in Spanish, and select titles have been translated into languages including Mandarin, Paiute, Haitian Creole, Bengali, Italian, Slovenian, Dutch, Turkish, and Hebrew. We are always open to adapting titles into additional languages when there is demand.

Platypus Media’s work has been recognized in major book competitions and reviewed by leading publications including Publishers Weekly, School Library Journal, and Booklist. Our books have also been featured at institutions such as the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, the Boston Children’s Museum, and numerous museums and educational organizations across the United States.

Our publications are endorsed by respected organizations including the American Association of Birth Centers, La Leche League International, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the National Science Teachers Association, and the Carnegie Academy for Science Education.
