Michala Roepstorff

Michala Roepstorff is a partner in our insolvency and reconstruction team and has many years of experience in dealing with bankruptcy estate and advising on financial reconstructions.

For many years Michala has been involved in several of the largest and most complex courses and reconstructions in Denmark. Currently, Michala has been appointed as a trustee in one of Damark's most extensive bankruptcies in recent times - the bankruptcy estate of OW Bunker. From here, Michala has gained experience in conducting a variety of complicated insolvency lawsuits.

Michala is deeply specialized in the handling of bankruptcy estates, including hedging of insurmountable circumstances, maintaining operations and completing business transfers of all or part of the bankrupt enterprise. She also has extensive experience advising on reconstructions of distressed companies, including on chord arrangements. In addition, Michala advises banks and other financial institutions on insolvency law matters.

Michala is considered a "leading individual" in Restructuring / Insolvency. One client states: "She is extremely efficient and goes immediately to the heart of the matter. She also has a practical approach that looks at the economic aspects of the matter to best protect the interests of her client." (Chambers Europe 2020).

Management of employees in relation to bankruptcy estate, including any. Temporary retention of key employees, Michala has special expertise in - based on many years of experience in employment and labor law counseling.

Michala is certified under and a member of the board of the Association of Danish Insolvency Attorneys. In addition, Michala is chairman of SWIC, the Scandinavian section of IWIRC (International Women's Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation). In 2019 she was elected as "Councillor of Denmark" in INSOL Europe and was co-chair at the INSOL Europe conference in 2019 in Copenhagen.

In addition, Michala Roepstorff is permanently affiliated with the Danish Debt Management Agency's Advocate Panel. on continuing education courses under the auspices of Danish Lawyers.
