Muhammad Arafat

Muhammad Arafat has a strong background in software engineering, with experience in various roles and companies. Muhammad most recently worked at Plex, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were a member of the cloud engineering team focused on media metadata services. Muhammad built a cloud service for Electronic Programming Guide (EPG) data and offered a performant API for consuming this data. Prior to that, Muhammad worked as a Software Engineer at Plex, Inc., where they added support to the React Native framework and made contributions to the official Facebook repository.

Before joining Plex, Inc., Muhammad worked at LifeCo, Inc. as a Software Engineer. Muhammad built and maintained a user authentication/authorization backend service, implementing features such as Authorization Code Flow, multiple user roles, secure password reset flows, and two-factor authentication. Muhammad also created REST APIs using Java Dropwizard and JDBI.

Muhammad's experience also includes roles at Arccos Golf, where they worked as an Android Developer, iOS Development Electrical Engineer, and iOS Developer. Muhammad ported previous work to Android, refactored code, and developed iOS libraries for hardware sensors. Muhammad Arafat received their Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Damascus University, graduating in 2008. Muhammad then went on to pursue their Master's of Engineering in Advanced Telecommunications at Telecom Bretagne from 2008 to 2011. In addition to their formal education, Muhammad obtained a certification in Accounting Foundations: Bookkeeping from LinkedIn in August 2022.
