Summer Ren

Summer Ren has a diverse background in quality assurance and software testing. Summer started their career as a Software Test Engineer at adSage Corporation in 2012, where they quickly advanced to the role of SDET/QA Team Leader. During their time at adSage, Summer worked on various projects, including the COSMOS cloud-based solution on-site at Microsoft China and the China Unicom customer information website on-site at Huawei & China Unicom. Summer was responsible for designing test cases, performing manual and automated testing, and logging and verifying defects. Summer also played a key role in improving documentation and testing practices, resulting in increased efficiency and effectiveness. In 2018, they joined Plexure as a QA Practice Lead, where they currently work.

Summer Ren completed a Master of Engineering in Computer Software Engineering at The University of Auckland from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, from 2016 to 2017, they obtained a Graduate Diploma in Computer Engineering from Unitec | Te Pūkenga. They also pursued a Postgraduate degree in Computer Software Engineering at The University of Auckland starting from 2019, with no specified end year. In terms of certifications, Summer Ren achieved the ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) from the ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board in April 2018. Additionally, they obtained an ICAgile Certified Professional certification from ICAgile in June 2017.
