Russ Steed has worked in the software quality assurance (SQA) industry for over 20 years. From 2000 to 2008, they were a Staff SQA Engineer at Polycom, where they spearheaded quality and performance operations for proprietary products and certified third-party offerings. Russ also served on the International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium (IMTC) as Treasurer and Board Member. From 2008 to 2010, they were a Senior SQA Engineer at Ripcode. From 2010 to 2016, they were a Senior SQA Engineer/Lead at BlackBerry, where they reduced software install time from 8 hours to 2 hours by designing an automated launch tool, and by creating a new test management tool that introduced more Agile principles. From 2016 to 2020, they were a Manager, SQA Engineering and Lead SQA Engineer at Lifesize, where they led talented software engineers in SDLC, automation, and testing best practices, and guided the launch of the first 4K video conference product in the industry. Since 2020, they have been a SQA Manager and Lead SQA Engineer at Plnar.

Russ Steed has an Electronics Engineering Technology Diploma from Southwest School of Electronics, a Telecommunications Certification from The University of Texas at Austin, and has taken courses in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Austin Community College.
