Layla Murphy

Layla Murphy has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as a Software Implementation & Training Consultant at PlotBox since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Family Support Specialist at Seniorly from December 2021 to February 2023. Additionally, Layla worked as a Thanatology Assistant at the School of American Thanatology from January 2021 to May 2021, where they assisted with operations, outreach, and independent research. Layla also has experience as a Guest Services Specialist at Forest Lawn Memorial Parks and Mortuaries from March 2019 to June 2019, where they handled sensitive documents and provided support to teammates. Layla served as a Manager at Harmony HB from February 2018 to March 2019, managing onboarding tasks and reporting. Prior to that, they worked as a Funeral Assistant at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes - NSMG from March 2017 to August 2017, and as a Front Desk Supervisor at Harmony HB from April 2014 to October 2015.

Layla Murphy's education history begins in 2018 when they attended Arizona State University and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2020. After that, in 2020, they pursued a Graduate Certificate in Thanatology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), which they completed in 2021.

Aside from their formal education, Layla Murphy has also obtained several additional certifications. In 2020, they became a Death Companioning Initiate through the School of American Thanatology. Then, in 2022, they earned their certification as a Certified Thanatologist (CT) through the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC). Furthermore, Layla obtained additional certifications including a Shadowloss Theory Workshop from the School of American Thanatology and a Foundation Level certification from PlotBox, both in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
