Mike Carr OBE FREng is currently a Non-Executive Director for Ploughshare Innovations Ltd and a Board member of the ERA Foundation, along with participating in the Enterprise Hub Board at the Royal Academy of Engineering. They served as President of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) during 2018/2019 and were previously the Chief Science Officer for BT, overseeing research and corporate venturing. Their career included establishing BT's US Technology office in Silicon Valley and leading the Research & Venturing division upon returning to the UK. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Engineering from Plymouth Polytechnic and is recognized for their contributions to innovation with an OBE awarded in 2017.
