Senior Mechanical Engineer at Plug Power

Anthony Reffelt has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Anthony began their career as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor for the Rondout Harbor Home Owners Association and Callabar Club from 2009 to 2012. During this time, they were responsible for monitoring swimmers and performing rescues, as well as maintaining the pool facilities.

In 2011, Anthony worked as a Woodworker at Spiegel Architectural Woodworking, where they crafted decorative fixtures and furnishings using power tools and hand-finishing techniques. Anthony also gained knowledge about CNC routing during their time there.

From 2013 to 2014, Anthony worked as an ABS/Manufacturing Engineer at Alcoa Fastening Systems, where they designed fixtures, analyzed productivity, and performed 5S audits. Anthony returned to Alcoa Fastening Systems in 2014 as an ABS/Lean Manufacturing Engineer, focusing on prioritizing work cells and performing product flow analysis.

In 2014, Anthony also worked as an Operational Technician at ASLAN Environmental, where they performed maintenance on a waste treatment facility and troubleshooted issues on-call.

From 2015 to 2020, Anthony held the role of Manufacturing Engineer at RBC Heim Bearings and Ametek Rotron. At RBC Heim Bearings, they implemented mechanical fixes to improve equipment efficiency and reduced setup time and cycle time. At Ametek Rotron, they focused on manufacturing engineering responsibilities.

Starting in 2020, Anthony joined General Dynamics Electric Boat as a Mechanical Design Engineer II, where they worked until 2021.

Most recently, Anthony joined Plug Power in 2021, first as a Prototype Mechanical Engineer, where they addressed metal stack CVM components, generated prototype manufacturing tooling, and conducted tests on metal bipolar plates. Anthony is currently holding the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer at Plug Power.

Anthony Reffelt has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University, which they obtained from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they attended Ulster County Community College from 2011 to 2013, where they earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Anthony has also completed a Metalworking Class at Sandvik Coromant, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
