Christopher Fields

Mechanical Designer at Plug Power

Christopher Fields has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Christopher started their career at Digital Equipment Corporation as a Design Draftsperson before moving on to various roles in companies like Quantum Corporation, Maxtor, and David Clark Company Incorporated.

In 2005, Christopher joined Eastern Acoustic Works as a Senior Mechanical Designer, where they worked on the design and manufacture of high-performance loudspeakers. Christopher then worked at Maxtor as a Sr Mechanical Designer, collaborating on critical disk drive components and tools and fixtures for the Server Products Group.

From 2006 to 2016, Christopher worked at Babcock Power as a Senior Mechanical Designer, specializing in the design and proposal evaluation for upgrading fossil-fired steam generating plants.

Christopher then joined Raytheon as a Drafting/Design Specialist, where they utilized CAD design tools and Windchill PDM software for creating and updating CAD models and documentation.

Christopher's most recent position was at Bose Corporation, where they held the role of Mechanical Designer III (Documentation Specialist). Christopher contributed to the design and manufacture of high-performance loudspeakers, utilizing CAD design tools like NX, AutoCAD, and Windchill PDM.

Currently, Christopher works at Plug Power as a Mechanical Designer, working on the design and manufacture of PEM electrolyzer stack technology and hydrogen fueling stations.

Throughout their work experience, Christopher has demonstrated strong CAD design skills and has been involved in designing and modifying accurate sets of assemblies, sub-assemblies, part models, and related documents for evaluation, DFM, and final production builds. Christopher has also gained experience in site visits, proposal evaluation, and writing technical instructions.

Christopher Fields attended Worcester Industrial Technical Institute from 1980 to 1983. Christopher earned a Diploma in Machine and Tool Design during their time there.
