Luke Wentlent has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Luke is currently employed at Plug Power as a Principal R&D Engineer, where they lead technology development projects related to hydrogen refueling stations and storage. Prior to this, Luke worked as a Process Research Engineer II at Universal Instruments Corporation, conducting research on electronics SMT manufacturing processes. Luke also served as an Assistant Professor of Physics at the University of the Virgin Islands, teaching physics and mathematics courses. Luke has international experience as a Secondary School Physics Educator in Tanzania, where they effectively communicated physics and mathematics concepts to ESL students. Luke has also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at SUNY Binghamton, conducting research on materials properties and failure analysis of electronic materials. Other roles include Adjunct Instructor at SUNY Broome, Science Educator at Roberson Museum and Science Center, and Emergency Room Volunteer at Lourdes Hospital. Luke also had previous experiences as an Information Desk Attendant at SUNY Cortland and a Transportation Construction Inspector III at NYSDOT.

Luke Wentlent attended State University of New York Cortland from 2006 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. Luke then pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Binghamton University from 2009 to 2012. Later, from 2012 to 2015, they continued their education at Binghamton University and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Materials Science.
