Certification Engineer at Plug Power

Maria Quesada has a comprehensive work experience in the field of production engineering. Maria started their career in 1996 as a Production Technologist at Shell Venezuela, where they gained experience in identifying candidates for re-perforation and hydraulic fracs. Maria then worked as a Production Engineer at Amerada Hess, focusing on well allocation and production forecasting. In 2003, Maria joined Nexen Petroleum as a Production Engineer, responsible for start-up preparations, production monitoring, troubleshooting, and well testing in the Buzzard field. Maria continued working with Nexen until 2014, where they served as a Production Engineer in the new developments team, evaluating different development concepts. Most recently, Maria has joined Plug Power in 2021 as a Certification Engineer.

Maria Quesada holds a Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, which they obtained from Heriot-Watt University in 2000. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines from 1992 to 1996. Maria also has additional certifications in Project Management, which they obtained from Cornell University in May 2021, and Energy Transition Innovation Towards a Low-Carbon Future, which they acquired from IFP School in April 2021.
