Zhenyu Liu is an accomplished electrochemist with extensive experience in the energy storage and fuel cell industries. Currently serving at Plug Power since September 2019, Zhenyu identified a critical root cause for fuel cell stack durability, potentially leading to significant cost reductions in service. Previous roles include R&D leader at Graphenix Development Inc., lead system engineer and lead cell design engineer at GE Energy Storage, where design improvements enhanced battery reliability, and senior engineer/project manager at BASF Fuel Cell Inc., overseeing new technology development and process scale-up. Zhenyu began a career as a research scientist at Columbian Chemicals Company and held positions at Hoku Scientific and Sinopec Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Company. Academic credentials include a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and Master's and Bachelor's degrees from Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University, respectively.
