Bernie Thompson

Founder and CTO at Plugable Technologies

Bernie Thompson has a long and varied career in the technology industry. Bernie began their career in 1994 as an Associate Programmer at IBM, where they developed OS/2's 800x600 SVGA driver from VGA and wrote the OS/2 SVGA FAQ. In 1995 they moved to S3, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer. In 1998 they founded Cosource.com, an early collaborative marketplace for open source. Bernie then moved to Applix, Inc. in 1999 as President of the Linux Division. In 2001 they joined Microsoft as a Software Development Manager, where they were the primary developer on Windows RFCOMM. SYS Bluetooth serial emulation driver and authored the Windows USB and Bluetooth teams. In 2006 they founded Leancode and in 2008 they joined DisplayLink as Vice President of Software Platforms. In 2009 they founded Plugable Technologies, where they served as both Founder and CTO, and in 2019 they co-founded PPC Ninja - Amazon PPC Tools and Services.

Bernie Thompson attended Penn State University from 1989 to 1994, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
