Tom Abrahams

Trainer Trauma Informed Care

Tom Abrahams currently serves as a PhD Candidate at Amsterdam UMC, focusing on music therapy for children and adolescents affected by childhood adversity or trauma. As the Founder and Lecturer at Het NIM, a non-profit organization, Tom aims to enhance the quality and professionalism of music therapy in the Netherlands through training and research. With extensive experience as a Music Therapist at Pluryn and previous roles at De Hoenderloo Groep and Spirit Jeugd en Opvoedhulp, Tom has worked with various age groups facing intellectual and behavioral challenges. Additionally, Tom has contributed to academia as a guest lecturer at the University of Amsterdam and has held several teaching positions, including at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts. Tom's educational background includes a Master's in Music Therapy from Zuyd University of Applied Sciences and a Bachelor's in Music Therapy from HAN University of Applied Sciences.
