Maria Thorbourne has extensive experience in public affairs and communications, holding various positions since entering the field. Notably, Maria served as an Account Executive at Redwood Pacific Public Affairs LLC from April 2012 to December 2014, and later took on roles at PLUS Communications, first as Managing Director and currently as Senior Director of Public Affairs since October 2018. Previously, Maria worked as a Legislative Assistant in the Office of Legislative Affairs under Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger from January 2008 to December 2010, and also held the position of Communications Manager at Local Thrifty, Inc. in 2011. From January 2015 to October 2018, Maria was the Senior Manager of Public Affairs at The Hoover Institution, Stanford University. Early in the career, Maria gained experience as a Legislative Assistant at Sloat Higgins Jensen & Associates from May 2007 to January 2008. Maria holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from UC Davis.
