David Rodd

David Rodd has extensive experience in the field of software engineering and media management. David is currently working as a Lead Software Engineer at Pluto TV, where they have been since 2021. Prior to this, David worked at CNN as a Technical Lead in Realtime, Video Experience, and Platforms from 2020 to 2020.

From 2018 to 2019, David served as a Senior Software Engineer at Group Nine Media, where they were responsible for creating an internal Media Management tool. During their time there, they utilized various AWS and GCP technologies, such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, and Cloud PubSub, and also worked with Airtable and Firebase.

Before Group Nine Media, David worked at Sportsrocket as a Senior Video Systems Engineer from 2013 to 2018. David also had a role at Bedrocket Media Ventures/NowThis as an Engineer from 2012 to 2013.

David's earlier work experience includes freelance editing at All Mobile Video/Chelsea Post from 2004 to 2012, owning Lightning Rodd DVD from 2003 to 2012, and working as a Digital Utility at B Productions from 2004 to 2012. David also worked as a Media Manager at Freelance from 2008 to 2010 and in Application Integration at JPMorgan Chase from 2001 to 2003.

David Rodd attended TAFE NSW from 1993 to 1994, where they completed an Information Systems Traineeship in the field of Information Technology. In 1992, they also took a course in Directing Video at the National Institute of Dramatic Art Summer School. No degree was specified for the course in Directing Video.
