John Urene has a diverse work experience in the field of technology project management and network engineering. John started their career as a Project Manager at Electronic Systems Associates in 1994 and later worked as a Project Manager and Asset Management Specialist at RMS Computer Corporation from 2003 to 2004. John then served as a Network Engineer/Consultant at Apollo Professional Solutions from 2007 to 2013 and as a Network Engineer at LAUSD from 2004 to 2015.

From 2013 to 2015, John worked as a Field Supervisor/Consultant at GSE- Gateway Science & Engineering Inc., where they provided services to the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) in implementing telecommunications systems and ensuring quality assurance of infrastructure and installed equipment.

In 2016, John joined Orange County Executive Office - IT (OCIT) as a Sr. IT Network Engineer/Project Manager, where they were a member of the OCIT Implementation Team for the Network/VoIP Transformation Project. John reviewed and analyzed site information packages and floor plans to ensure proper network equipment and necessary resources were allocated for the project.

In 2020, John took on the role of Senior Project Manager, Technology Infrastructure Implementation at Zones Infrastructure, where they are currently working. John is responsible for coordinating and managing information technology infrastructure projects for the City of Santa Monica Information Services Department Project Management Office.

Additionally, in 2020, John also started working as a Technology Project Manager for the LA City College District at PMCS Group, Inc.
