John Weyand

John Weyand is currently a Client Strategy Partner at PMG. John has previously worked as a Business Owner at CycleBar Franchising, LLC from September 2016 to March 2019, and as Director of Digital Marketing at Pier 1 Imports from May 2014 to September 2016.

As Director of Digital Marketing at Pier 1 Imports, John was responsible for heading all digital efforts outside of Pier1.com, including all digital marketing channels, both existing and emerging. John also built a three-year digital marketing strategy from scratch following the relaunch of Pier 1 ecommerce. Furthermore, they were responsible for the management of roughly 25% of overall marketing budget as well as full internal team and several external partner agencies, all with traffic, revenue, and customer volume goals.

Under John's leadership, the company saw great results. In the first year with the company (FY15), Pier 1 ecommerce sales increased 190% vs. the previous year. The company was also awarded “Internet Retailer Comeback of the Year” by Internet Retailer. Over the next two years, ecommerce grew by an additional 100%. Key metrics, including overall digital spend and traffic to Pier1.com, were managed across all channels to within 1% of original goals for FY16 and FY17. Additionally, digital marketing investment was increased 130% while reducing ROI by just 10% from FY15 to FY17. Finally, traffic and revenue from social media each increased by more than 1200% from FY15 to FY17 while reducing cost per visit by 60%.

John Weyand has a BS in Broadcast Journalism from Texas Christian University. John also has a Core: Credential of Readiness from Harvard Business School Online. Additionally, they have a Certificate in Leading with Finance from Harvard Business School Online.
