Rômulo Corrêa has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Rômulo started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, where they assisted professors and tutored undergraduate students in programming courses. Rômulo then became an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, focusing on teaching programming and algorithms using the language C.
After their time at the university, Rômulo joined IMS Power Quality as a R&D Intern, where they gained experience in developing high-performance software platforms for power quality metering equipment. Rômulo then moved up to become a Junior Software Designer, responsible for developing software platforms for power quality equipment management and calibration. Later, they progressed to the role of Software Designer, where they developed innovative solutions for the energy sector, including power quality analysis and combating energy theft. Rômulo also contributed to writing technical manuals and articles.
Currently, Rômulo is employed at Poatek as a Senior Software Engineer and has held various roles within the company. Rômulo started as a Platform Software Engineer, collaborating with an international team to develop high-performance applications for parking solutions, including device monitoring and automation. Rômulo also contributed to migrating legacy C++ desktop applications to a C#/.NET environment. Rômulo then advanced to the role of Director, Engineering Lead 1 and later Director, Engineering Lead 2, responsible for leading and managing engineering teams.
Rômulo Corrêa obtained an Engineer's degree in Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul from 2009 to 2016. Rômulo also studied Electrical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology from 2014 to 2015. In addition to their formal education, Rômulo has obtained several certifications including "Design Patterns in C# and .NET" and "Vue JS 2 - The Complete Guide" from Udemy. Rômulo has also received certifications in non-technical loss management and English language assessments.
