James Simoes

James Simoes is a Lead Software Engineer at Optum, specializing in data science and currently exploring OCR and Azure Cognitive Services. Since 2015, James has also served as a Senior Software Engineer at UnitedHealth Group, focusing on modern engineering practices, serverless solutions, and enhancing user experience. In addition, James is the Founder of POCO, a community initiative aimed at fostering discussions on ideas and solutions in Fall River. James contributes as a CIS Alumni Mentor at Bristol Community College, supporting students in their educational journeys. Previous experience includes a role as a .NET Application Developer II at SmartCo Services LLC. James holds a Bachelor of Science in Project Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology and an Associate of Science in Computer Information Systems from Bristol Community College.
