Andrew Mason

Andrew Mason has over 10 years of work experience. Andrew began their career in 2011 as a Manager at Eaman Park Pool, where they were responsible for interviewing, hiring, and supervising an aquatics staff of 7 Lifeguards. In 2013, they became an Intern at Walser Technology Group, Inc., where they planned, marketed, and created various eBay auctions to generate additional revenue for the company. Andrew then worked at the J. F. Hurley YMCA as a Lifeguard in 2014, followed by the Country Club of Landfall as a Lifeguard in 2016. From 2015 to 2017, they held various roles at the UNCW Student Recreation Center, including Aquatics Program Assistant of Team Management, Lifeguard Instructor, Aquatics Supervisor, Lifeguard, and Program Assistant of Programming and Marketing. In 2019, they became a Software Engineer at CodeFund and then a Software Developer at The N2 Company in 2020. In the same year, they also worked as a Software Engineer at Realvolve, Inc., where they maintained and enhanced features in a large, legacy Ruby on Rails 4 application, collaborated with vendors to create a robust integration into an AI chatbot, and enhanced internal tooling with a focus on cleaning up tech debt and improving the test suite and testing practices. Andrew is currently employed as a Senior Product Engineer at Podia since 2022.

Andrew Mason's education history includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a Concentration in Digital Art from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, which they completed in 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a High School Diploma from Salisbury High School in 2014. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including a Javascript tutorial class from Solo Learning in October 2017, an American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard in March 2011, an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers Instructor in April 2016, an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor in April 2016, and an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor in April 2016.
