Mike Walstrom

Mike Walstrom is a seasoned IT professional with extensive experience in data operations and information security. Currently serving as a Data Operations Engineer at Podium since October 2021, Mike manages critical infrastructure including Elasticsearch and Kafka on AWS, utilizing tools such as GitLab and Terraform for automation in support of AI-driven communications and marketing platforms. Prior to this role, Mike held the position of Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Strategic Education, Inc. from August 2018 to May 2021, and at Capella Education Company from October 2000 to June 2018, overseeing IT infrastructure and security practices. Earlier in the career, Mike managed business systems at Dorsey & Whitney and held managerial roles at Bachman's. Mike holds a BS in Management Information Systems from Metro State University and an MBA in Finance from Capella University.
