Michelle Cooper is the Chief Executive Officer at Point North since February 2018, focusing on enhancing community safety, happiness, and inclusivity through intelligent grantmaking and advocacy against poverty in County Durham, the Tees Valley, and the wider North East. Prior to this role, Michelle served as Investment Director at Northstar Ventures UK from October 2005 to December 2017. Michelle's earlier experience includes business development management positions at Codeworks and UMIP, and a product development manager role at Mars. Michelle began an academic career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The University of Edinburgh after earning a PhD in yeast genetics from the same institution, following a BSc degree from the University of Kent.
