Jay Blake

Jay Blake has a diverse work experience in the media industry. Jay started their career as a Production Runner and Script Writer at Ginx TV Ltd. from June 2011 to April 2012.

In September 2012, Jay joined The Pokémon Company International as an Associate Producer, where they were responsible for coordinating international dubbing for Pokémon series, films, and animations in EU and CEE territories. Jay also handled brand approvals for localized scripts and marketing assets. Jay held this role until September 2018.

After that, they transitioned to become a Localisation Producer at The Pokémon Company International. In this role, Jay played a key role in coordinating and producing international dubbing for Pokémon series and feature films. Jay worked closely with European and CEE territories, ensuring brand approvals for localized scripts and AV media. Additionally, Jay contributed to creative consulting for brand initiatives, review of English animation AV branding, and copywriting for animation marketing materials on social media.

From May 2016, Jay took on a new role as an On Air Talent, serving as a Play-by-Play and Analysis caster for the Pokémon Video Game Championship Series live event streams, including two World Championships. Jay also worked as a creative consultant and brand producer for European livestreams until 2019. Furthermore, they hosted the first-ever Pokémon podcast series called The Play! Pokémon Podcast, focusing on tournament results and trends from the Players Cup during the summer of 2020.

Most recently, Jay became a Studio Video Producer at The Pokémon Company International in June 2021. In this role, they are responsible for producing live-action and studio-based Pokémon productions, such as Top Deck Academy and Battle of the Bidoof. Jay manages the entire process of EN audio and video projects, from creative conception to post-production. Jay also serves as a project manager and producer for international subtitling on English language materials.

Jay Blake obtained a Bachelor's degree in English and Creative Writing from the University of Portsmouth, which they attended from 2009 to 2012. Additionally, they obtained certifications in "Public Speaking: Energize and Engage Your Audience" and "Speaking Confidently and Effectively" from LinkedIn in January 2021.
