Joyce Hwang

Joyce Hwang has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Joyce worked as a Lead Graphic Designer at The Pokémon Company International since April 2022 and as a Graphic Designer from June 2020 to April 2022. Prior to that, they operated their own business, Joyce Hwang Design & Illustration, as a Freelance Graphic Designer and Illustrator since June 2012, collaborating with clients on branding, concept work, book design, and illustration projects. Joyce also worked as a Graphic Designer at PCC Natural Markets from July 2017 to October 2018, creating promotions, assets, and managing photoshoots for various platforms. Additionally, they served as a Graphic Designer for Sasquatch Books from October 2013 to May 2016, overseeing the design of book covers and interiors, managing interns, and executing marketing collateral programs. Joyce also has experience in project management, having worked as a Lead Project Interviewer at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center from April 2012 to November 2013, and as a Project Interviewer from October 2009 to April 2012. Joyce managed interviewers, ensured quality control, and performed administrative tasks. Earlier in their career, Joyce held positions at Limeade as a Graphic Designer Contractor from November 2016 to July 2017, and at the University of Washington as an Office Assistant from June 2011 to August 2011, a Writing Tutor from October 2007 to June 2011, and a Summer Transition Program Instructor from July 2008 to August 2010.

Joyce Hwang attended the University of Washington from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Art History, Criticism, and Conservation. Later, from 2011 to 2013, they attended Seattle Central College, where they earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Graphic Design.
