Darin McCloy

Darin McCloy has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Starting their career in the US Marine Corps as a Communications Officer, they served for 20 years, including a role as Company Commander and Assistant Operations Officer. After retiring, they joined Advanced System Design - ASD, Inc. as a Consultant.

In 2005, Darin worked at The Joint Chiefs of Staff at The Pentagon in the Strategic Communications, Command, Control, Communications and Computers Directorate. Darin then moved on to HealthStream as the Director of Systems Operations, followed by DRS Defense Solutions as the Infrastructure and Operations Director and General Manager of the International Division. In this role, they were responsible for managing a global telecommunications operation and developing the information security program from scratch.

Darin's next role was at Emdeon (now rebranded as "Change Healthcare") as the Vice President of Technology and Chief Information Security Officer. Here, they oversaw global and enterprise-wide information security.

In 2017, Darin joined Shearwater Health as the Director of IT, and in 2018, they worked at CI Security as a Principal Consultant, providing managed detection and response services, consulting, and professional services.

Since 2015, Darin has been working at Clarity Cyber Assurance as a Cyber Security, Compliance, and Risk Adviser, offering cybersecurity and compliance consultation to clients in various industries.

Currently, Darin holds the position of VP Security and Compliance, CISO at PolicyCo. In this role, they focus on breaking down policy into individual elements, connecting procedures to implement each policy article, and embedding evidence to demonstrate cybersecurity controls implementation and effectiveness.

Darin McCloy obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering from the United States Naval Academy, which they attended from 1983 to 1987. Darin furthered their education by pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Digital Signal Processing, from the Naval Postgraduate School. This degree was completed between 1997 and 1999. In addition to their formal education, Darin McCloy obtained a certification as a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute (PMI) in February 2012.
