Greg Bybee has a long history of work experience in the education technology space. In 2020, they became the Co-Founder and CEO of Avela, a company promoting equity in education admissions and enrollment. In 2018, they co-founded PoliScribe, a platform enabling public servants to connect with their constituents. Greg has also served as an advisor to various startups since 2012. In 2018, they became a Board Member and Board of Advisors for Rutgers Innovation Education. From 2013 to 2020, they worked at NovoEd in various roles, including Vice President of Marketing and Customer Experience, Vice President of Marketing & Learning Products, and Director of Product Management. In 2015, they were a Team Member for Philanthropy University. In 2012, they were a Fellow for NewSchools Venture Fund, an Advisor for Education Business Development for Renren, Inc., and a Product Management Intern for Coursera. From 2009 to 2012, they worked at VMware in various roles, including Sr. Manager of Product Marketing, Manager of Product Marketing, and Product Marketing.
Greg Bybee has an extensive education history, beginning with a High School Diploma from Eisenhower High School in New Berlin Middle/High, obtained in 2003. Greg then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University in 2007. In 2011, they completed a MA-Education in Learning, Design, & Technology from Stanford University Graduate School of Education, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. In 2012 and 2013, they participated in the Stanford Tsinghua Exchange Program (Stanford-Tsinghua Joint Program) at Tsinghua University. Greg also obtained a Certificate in Public Management and Social Innovation (PMP) from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in June 2013. Most recently, they completed a Creative Destruction Lab at the University of Oxford's Saïd Business School in 2020.
