John D. Johnson, PhD, is a Utah-based state senator and professor emeritus at Utah State University. They have served as a Professor of Management Information Systems at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business since 2012, focusing on business analytics, data visualization, new ventures, and e-commerce. They are the co-founder of RedBirdMetrics and Wise Plant Bar, chair PoliticIt, host the PoliticIt Podcast, and previously co-founded FNC Inc. They earned a BA in Economics from Weber State University and a PhD in Economics from Texas A&M University.
