Melanie Zeppel

Melanie Zeppel is an accomplished professional in the field of environmental science and data analysis, currently serving as Associate Director at Pollination since August 2025, where Melanie provides expert technical guidance on global forest carbon projects and models greenhouse gas emissions. Prior to this role, Melanie held positions including Manager of Natural Capital and Carbon Analytics at New Forests and Lead Data Scientist at CarbonLink™, focusing on carbon removals and soil carbon measurement. Melanie's extensive research background includes a Senior Research Fellow position at Macquarie University and various roles at Westpac and University of Sydney, investigating the health impacts of climate change and contributing to gender diversity research in STEM. With a Bachelor of Science from the University of Sydney, a Master's in Environmental Science from Macquarie University, and a PhD in Plant Physiology from the University of Technology Sydney, Melanie brings a strong academic foundation to her professional endeavors.
