Justine Walter

Head, Product Development and Technical Affairs at PolyActiva

Justine Walter has over 20 years of experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. Justine began their career in 1996 as a Post Doctoral Fellow at the University of Birmingham. In 1998, they joined CSIRO as a Research Scientist where they synthesized complex molecules for biological testing, collaborated with other scientists, and supervised a research assistant. In 2000, they joined IDT Australia Ltd as a Technical Project Leader, where they managed the development of 9 synthetic projects and transferred 5 R&D projects from the laboratory to the plant. Justine also successfully implemented a manufacturing process on 2000L scale. Justine later became an R&D Project Leader and R&D Chemist at IDT Australia Ltd. In 2014, they joined Boron Molecular as an Operations and QC Manager, where they managed a catalogue of over 1500 compounds and 200 custom compounds and the production schedule to meet project timelines and objectives. In 2019, they became the Head of Product Development and Technical Affairs at PolyActiva.

Justine Walter completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organic Chemistry at the University of Melbourne between 1992 and 1996. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Melbourne between 1988 and 1991.
