Ralf Alwani BA(hons) MA(RCA) Co-founder, Urban Scale Interventions.

Co-founder at Urban Scale interventions a new form of creative agency which responds to changes in the way we live, work and play through people-centered design.

Co-founder at Polyloop.io a public policy platform that aims to fundamentally change the way evidence-based decisions are made through improved policy alignment and monitoring.

He was recently awarded in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list for social impact for contributions to government sector transformation.

Ralf ’s interests lie in architecture, design and social impact. Ralf currently leads on the concept to delivery of Portview Belfast, a listed spinning mill that has National Heritage Lottery support to develop a hybrid site for creative industries, a national museum and an advanced manufacturing school. This includes oversight of a new living museum and 2000 person capacity events venue. He leads the strategy and creative direction of a new SaaS Platform for government policy and monitoring known as PolyLoop.io and The Urban Forest, a landmark festival in 2023 in partnership with the Eden Project which looks to reimagine a city centre highstreet.

Ralf completed a masters at the Royal College of Art specialising in new towns and large urban projects. Since then he has been consulting for government and organisations on a variety of projects involving public realm, community, health and cultural schemes. Ralf also designed and delivered the award winning Helix Centre which operates within the grounds of St Mary’s Hospital as a hub to engage with frontline NHS staff and patients as co-design collaborators for the Imperial College Trust.

Ralf is an active fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and has had work published in leading architecture and design, healthcare and mental health literature and journals. He has tutored at masters degree at Queens University Belfast and presented works internationally.
