Polyphony is a not-for-profit, member-run Pro-Am community choir based on Eora, Dharug, and Dharawal Country in Sydney, Australia.

Founded over twenty years ago, Polyphony has been led by some of Australia’s leading musicians, including Jack Colwell, Sally Whitwell, and Dan Walker.

We are currently led by award-winning Australian composer Oliver John Cameron, and are rehearsed and accompanied by the acclaimed performer and pianist Paula Lu.

Not limited by genre or era, Polyphony creates themed concert works with original arrangements commissioned to emerging Australian artists and songwriters and via its Pro-Am community mentorship program.

Works are shaped around an idea - whether it be a human experience, a thought, a feeling - and explores through pieces that emotes this within its choral members.

Past repertoire has ranged from Fauré’s 19th-century Requiem to The Smashing Pumpkins, Cocteau Twins, an eight-minute Björk medley, The Temper Trap, and The Jezabels.
