Paul James

Chief Financial Officer at Polypipe

Paul James is the current Chief Financial Officer at Polypipe. Paul has extensive experience in finance, having previously served as Group Financial Controller and Treasurer at Inchcape plc and Group Financial Controller at Dixons Carphone. Paul has also been a Non-Executive Director on the Audit Committee at The Southern Co-operative.

James began their career in finance at Inchcape plc in September 2011. In January 2014, they transitioned to Dixons Carphone where they were responsible for a broad scope of financial responsibilities including group FP&A, group reporting, group risk, group taxation, group M&A, Sprint USA, and the group insurance. Paul was also heavily involved in IR when the Group CFO was unable to attend, such as during the USA roadshow in December 2016.

At Dixons Carphone, James barely hit the ground before they started work on the merger. Paul put in the "hard yards" to defined and build a new Group Finance function that met all of the new Group's targets. Paul's work then evolved into the Finance Transformation Programme which included talent development, implementing new EPM software, harmonizing processes between in-house and third-party Shared Services, and automating processes using "Blue Prism" software. As a result of their hard work and dedication, James gained regular exposure to the main board - especially through their engagement on the Audit Committee.

In addition to their role at Dixons Car

Paul James reports to Martin Payne, Chief Executive Officer. Paul James works with Glen Sabin - Chief Operating Officer, Emma Versluys - Group Legal Counsel & Company Secretary.
