John H. Willmoth

John H. Willmoth is the founder and managing partner of Poplar Ventures. John has over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications and technology industries. Prior to Poplar, John was a venture partner at Chrysalis Ventures and also served on the board of directors for Switcher Inc. and Zirmed, Inc. John's previous experience also includes serving as vice president of corporate development at Nextel Communications, where they were instrumental in leading the company through an intensive growth phase via a series of mergers and acquisitions. John has also managed Nextel's private equity investments and led negotiations with technology, infrastructure, and device partners for the company's planned rollout of 4G technology in the 2.5 GHz spectrum band.

John H. Willmoth attended the Elizabethtown High School. John then went on to study Economics at Amherst College and finally completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Finance and Business Policy from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
