Luis Benitez is an experienced executive in digital banking and software engineering. Currently serving as VP of Digital Banking Engineering at Popular, Luis leads teams focused on software development for Banco Popular’s digital strategy, including the implementation of Secure-SDLC and the transformation of legacy systems into cloud microservices. Previous roles at Banco Popular include VP of Assisted Banking Experience, where Luis enhanced customer interactions across channels, and VP of Digital Workplace, dedicated to improving employee collaboration. Prior to joining Popular, Luis held various positions at IBM, including Group Product Manager for IBM Watson Workspace, Senior Product Manager for IBM Connections, and Enterprise Architect. Luis holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
