Luis Quiñones is currently a Lead Data Scientist at Popular, where they lead a team focused on developing scalable, production-ready machine learning solutions. Previously, they worked as a Data Scientist Supervisor and made significant contributions to model development, particularly using algorithms such as Logistic Regression, XGBoost, and LightGBM. Luis has experience as a Data Analyst at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and has held various roles in software development and data analysis. They earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. Passionate about data science and mentoring, Luis enjoys collaborative projects that turn complex data into actionable insights.
