Portail is an independent online magazine based in Tallinn, Estonia, focused on fashion, interior, beauty, culture, and contemporary lifestyles, approached with intention, perspective, and strong visual clarity.

Founded in 2016, Portail emerged as one of the first online fashion and culture magazines in the Baltics to combine strong editorial attention with strong visual ambition. While the regional media landscape has since evolved, Portail continues to occupy a distinct position in Estonia’s fashion and cultural conversation, filling a space that often remains uncovered between traditional cultural criticism and mainstream taste-making.

We publish fashion and culture journalism, carefully curated stories, interviews, and narratives grounded in visual storytelling and cultural observation. Our editorial approach values quality over speed, coherence over volume, and aesthetics as an essential part of storytelling. Portail is an online portal with an offline attitude.

Our editorial direction is shaped by Editor-in-Chief Aljona Eesmaa, a recognised voice in Estonia’s fashion and cultural field, whose long-term engagement with fashion and communication shapes the magazine’s standards and tone.

Over time, Portail has earned the trust of international brands and partners through editorial integrity, a consistent visual language, and high production standards. Collaborations are developed as credible, well-crafted content aligned with the magazine’s values.

Oh, and in case you were wondering. Portail (pɔʀtaj) comes from the French word "portal".
