Iwan van der Wolf has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Iwan started their career as a management consultant at PwC - Plant Location International in 1997 and worked there until 2000. Iwan then joined PwC Belgium as a Senior Management Consultant in the Global Location Advisory Services division from 2000 to 2002. Following this, they joined Port infolink in 2002 and held various roles including Marketing Manager from 2002 to 2005, Director of Strategy & Business Development from 2005 to 2007, and finally CEO and Managing Director from 2008 to 2009. Currently, they hold the position of CEO and Managing Director at Portbase, a role they have been in since 2009.

Iwan van der Wolf has a diverse education history. In 1992, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in International Economics and Economic Geography at Utrecht University in The Netherlands. Iwan continued their education at Middlesex University from 1994 to 1995, obtaining a Master's degree in Economics of Industry. In 1996, they went on to Chulalongkorn University in Bankok, Thailand, where they completed their dissertation on Airport Management, earning a Master's degree. In 2007, Iwan enrolled in an Executive Program at INSEAD, specializing in Strategic Partnerships & Alliances. Iwan further expanded their knowledge in 2014, attending Xebia Academy to acquire skills in Professional Agile Leadership Essentials. In 2018, they briefly studied Governance Essentials for non-executive Board members at NCD Academy.
