Samuel Carlier has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Samuel began their professional career in 2002 as a Freelance software programmer, providing additional functionality for websites of small and medium-sized businesses. From 2003 to 2004, they worked as a Software Programmer at Centrale Discotheek Rotterdam, where they contributed to migrating their website from ASP and MSSQL to PHP and MySQL platform. From 2004 to 2019, Samuel worked at Araneum Group, starting as a Junior Software Programmer and eventually becoming a Senior. Samuel handled both frontend and backend tasks initially, but later focused solely on backend development, taking responsibility for designing and implementing backend systems. Between 2018 and 2019, they joined SlashLead as a Software Programmer, responsible for designing and developing a SaaS email campaign platform using Java and the Micronaut framework. Samuel'smost recent role was at Portbase, where they joined as a Developer in 2019 and was later promoted to the position of Technical Team Lead in October 2020.

Samuel Carlier's education history includes two notable experiences. In 2000, they attended Zadkine and obtained a degree in MBO 4 ICT-BEHEER. Additionally, in 2014, they briefly enrolled in LOI to pursue an HBO deelprogramma in Software Engineering and Design.
