Monique Nelson

Monique Nelson has a diverse work experience with a focus on community engagement, communications, and public information activities. Monique served as the Director of Community Engagement at posAbilities Association of BC since 2012. Prior to that, they worked as a Communications Officer/Advisor at Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada, where they provided strategic advice to treaty negotiation teams. Monique also founded their own community relations firm, Breakthrough by Design Communications Consulting, where they managed multiple contracts and budgets and specialized in local land and resource management consultations.

Monique Nelson attended the University of Toronto from 1987 to 1991, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree. Monique'sfield of study was Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution.
