Julia Silge

Julia Silge is an experienced engineering manager currently leading development teams at Posit PBC since February 2020, focusing on open-source solutions for MLOps and a next-generation data science IDE. Prior roles include data scientist at Stack Overflow and Datassist, where Julia analyzed large datasets, built models, and developed statistical tools for clients. As a technical advisory committee member for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Julia advises on statistical methodology related to data collection and analysis. Julia has also contributed to academia as an adjunct professor and postdoctoral fellow, specializing in physics and astronomy, and holds a PhD in Astronomy from The University of Texas at Austin.
