Michael Baynton

Michael Baynton is a skilled software engineer with extensive experience in developing and maintaining web-based applications and systems. Currently at Posit PBC since November 2021, Michael focuses on hosted and PaaS offerings. Prior roles include Senior Software Engineer at Pantheon Platform and Lead System Programmer at the University of Minnesota's Supercomputing Institute, where responsibilities involved automating access and authorization policies, supporting systems administration, and maintaining a public-facing Drupal website. Michael also served as Manager and Software Developer at Open Access Technology International, overseeing product development, writing technical designs, and developing web applications using JavaScript and MS SQL. Early experience includes a software engineering internship at Kroll Ontrack Inc, where Michael implemented Windows applications utilizing .NET and various APIs. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
